Blue Studios partnered with Ayzenberg and Microsoft to reimagine Tomb Raider’s iconic key art as immersive cinemagraphs for Xbox Mixer. Through handcrafted animation techniques, we brought Lara’s world to life—swaying jungle leaves, flickering torchlight, and subtle environmental tension—all captured in hypnotic loops designed to enhance social engagement and viewer immersion. This was motion before AI. Atmosphere without noise.

In partnership with Ayzenberg and Microsoft, Blue Studios led the creative execution of a standout cinemagraph series for the Tomb Raider franchise, bringing Lara Croft’s legendary world to life on Xbox’s Mixer streaming platform.
Before the AI era, these handcrafted visuals offered a unique solution to amplify viewer engagement and deepen emotional resonance across streaming and social media platforms—all while staying true to the aesthetic and mythos of Tomb Raider.
Mixer was seeking to enrich how fans engaged with their favorite game titles—particularly legendary franchises like Tomb Raider—by transforming passive discovery into visual storytelling. Our approach was to breathe motion into stillness, using the iconic key art from Shadow of the Tomb Raider and other entries to create looping, immersive cinemagraphs.
Social & Platform Impact
Cinemagraphs were deployed across Mixer’s content carousel, Xbox dashboard, and official Tomb Raider social handles.
Engagement outperformed static stills, increasing click-through rates and stream starts.
The ambient motion provided a scroll-stopping moment that drew fans deeper into the experience without overwhelming their feed.
