When Phantogram prepared to launch their second studio album, Voices, Republic Records entrusted Blue with designing a dynamic TV spot that would resonate with both indie and mainstream audiences. Our team embraced the album’s aesthetic—an intricate blend of dark electronics, lush vocals, and layered storytelling—and translated it into a visual journey highlighting the singles “Fall in Love”, “Black Out Days”, and “My Only Friend”.

We used a mix of music video footage, stylized typography, and swift-paced edits to mirror the band’s signature “street-beat psych-pop” sound. Surreal transitions, echoing guitar licks, and haunting vocal interludes all lightheartedly built to emotional crescendos, reflecting the evolving soundscape that critics praised. Our creative intention: to present Voices not just as an album, but as a cinematic experience that captivates viewers immediately.
Voices debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on Top Rock Albums, selling over 20,000 units in its first week. Critical reception was strong—Metacritic currently scores it 74/100, a testament to its broadly praised quality.
Pitchfork, reflecting on the album campaign that included our promos, noted how Phantogram had “thrown all their cards” on Voices, emerging as “a quintessential Phantogram record”. KEXP added that “it’s been a long time coming,” with hooks so addictive that listeners hit repeat more than once.
