When Carina Round—an acclaimed English singer-songwriter known for her powerful voice and eclectic sound—chose to bring her single “The Last Time” to life through an official music video, she turned to Scott Rhea and our team to deliver a narrative as emotionally compelling as the song itself. Set entirely under Rhea’s visually minimalist lens, the director’s vision centered on portraying a deep juxtaposition: a solitary emotional landscape overwhelmed by raw performance.
Our crew translated that vision into a cinematic experience. From the first frame, Carina’s vocals are given full gravity, supported by stark lighting and subtle yet deliberate motion. We designed each composition to amplify the intimacy of the track—tight close-ups, softly blurred edges, and strategic color desaturation—all to ensure the emotional resonance remained front and center.
Rather than mask imperfections, we embraced them. Slight shake in handheld camera work, natural light spill, and texture overlays all reinforce the rawness and authenticity of Round’s performance, echoing the song’s thematic depths.
Upon release, “The Last Time” was recognized within underground circles and covered by outlets like Verbicide Magazine, which noted its uncensored yet “epic, passionate, and mysterious” quality. Discussions on audiophile forums and Reddit’s Puscifer community also reflected deep fan appreciation. It’s this resonance—beyond play counts—that affirmed our work delivered on Carina’s artistic goals.
